Bartender Paige Davis decided to make the meeting of local crafters help a good cause by donating a portion of proceeds to various non-profits.

"I thought it was important to do," Davis said. "I thought it would be good to do something to give back a little bit."

The Monday Marketplace occurs once a month at The Boulevard. Vendors with items such as jewelry, hair accessories, baked goods, handmade soap and more set up in the restaurant and 10 percent of the sales go to a good cause.

The first charity Monday Marketplace on March 7 will benefit A Pathway to Hope animal rescue from 7 to midnight.

In April the event will support Elmwood Park's Centennial Committee, and in May Bob's Boxes, a group that helps women after mastectomies.

The vendors will change each time.

Davis, a Boulevard bartender for more than five years, said she's open to suggestions on charities to help in the future.

Anyone with a worthy charity in mind can message Davis on her candle making company's Facebook page.
